I'd planned it as a one-shot but mmouse15 on LJ wanted to see the result of the last conversation between Ironhide and Optimus. The bunny bit and it ended up as a sequel/conclusion.

The fourth section of this fic is the prelude to the last section of 'Four Lives'. It started out completely Sam-focused, but then Will managed to butt in as well, and I decided I liked the result, since they're the only two human so far with Cybertronian citizenships and the contrast is fun to write.

Sometime, somewhere a while back - possibly on LJ - I saw someone comment in regards to songs that 'Riding With Private Malone' struck them as something Will might sing to Ironhide. I liked the idea and blatantly, uh, borrowed it, so if it was you/you know who it was, let me know so I can credit where credit is due. Also, I sort of cheated a bit - the song in the third part of this set isn't technically a song but spoken word, but I figured eh, it's on the radio, that makes it fair game.
